How to View Oracle Reports in Oracle Apps

Posted by: Edi Yanto on: December 26, 2007

When viewing report output (View -> Requests menu, Find button, place your cursor on the row of the report that you want to view, View Output button) using the standard Oracle Report Viewer, select Tools -> Copy File menu to open the report in a web browser (such as Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer).
a.) If a browser automatically opened when you clicked on the View Output button from within the Requests form, you don’t need to access the Tools -> Copy File menu.
b.) On a recurring basis, if you would rather view requests using a browser, rather than the standard Oracle Report Viewer, set the profile option “Viewer: Text” (rel 12, 11i & 11) or “Editor: Character” (rel 10.7) to “Browser” at the user level.

Hi Ricky,

Have you try to set the security setting (Enable Automatic prompting for file download) for your internet/local/trusted sites zone at internet option of your browser?

Hai Edi,

Thank you for your share about oracle, still about view output thing, can I have some custom form with button that has capabilities like oracle view output ? the example of this kind button can we see at Receivable Invoice when the status is complete… we can see invoice to customer with one click of icon button.

Warm Regards,

Samora

Hi Edi,
Perhaps you can help me, I am succesfully creating report from View => Requests menu. BUT when I tried to click the View Output or View Log button, the output/log didn’t show up?

This happen not just on my PC, not just on my User ID, but happen also on everybody User ID/PC/Resposibility with different Entity/SBU.

Can you tell what went wrong and how to fix it?

Regards,

Hi am3n,

Have you set the security setting (Internet Option) for your browser for Automatic prompting for file downloads to Enable ?

Thanks,
Edi

Hi Edi,
Thank you for your response, but luckily at that moment the consultant is able to be contacted and willing to help me although they no longer in contract.

The reason why the reports not showed up is because there is a session locks and I have to kill it using sql queries

something like this
